Spring flowers are blooming, church signs are getting more and more clever (some just have service times; others are touting things like “It’s not about the bunny, it’s about the Lamb”), Reese’s Eggs and Peeps are all over the stores, Lent is coming to an end, and eggs are being dyed to match the rainbow. Greenville is showing definitive signs of Easter, and it’s a great time to wish our community a happy holiday — and, of course, to share some public relations insights along the way.
At its roots, the Easter holiday is all about connecting over stories. Religiously, we celebrate the resurrection and Gospel of Jesus; secularly, children are told about the adventures of the Easter bunny and its eggs; and in the marketing realm, candy companies have a field day weaving their products into your treasured family traditions. As a public relations agency, the storytelling aspect of Easter is a great reminder for us to reflect on what we do for our clients and the Upstate community. Every individual, group, company, and organization has a story to tell, and we are privileged to be a part of the process for so many wonderful people.
The connected tradition of Lent is hitting close to home for us as well this year. Lent is a six-week period before Easter rooted in preparation for the resurrection of Christ on Easter Sunday. Many religious and non-religious people spend this period in self-reflection and choose to “give up” something that is unhealthy, distracting, or holding them back in some way for the duration of Lent. Our agency spent the Lenten period reflecting on our personal brand. We decided it it was time to move forward with a new logo and website which we unveiled earlier this week – out with the old branding and in with the new, we are striving to improve ourselves to contribute effectively to the Upstate business community.
We wish you and yours a weekend filled with wonderful stories, self-reflection, new habits, and plenty of Peeps. Happy Easter!
