In case you missed it, the New England Patriots beat the Alanta Falcons at last night’s Super Bowl LI. As usual, our team wasted no time analyzing the game, Lady Gaga and our favorite – the commercials. Keep reading for our team’s takeaways from the long awaited 2017 advertisements.
What we saw a lot of
Political messaging. Many brands used their very costly 30 seconds to remind us of America’s hot topics, like immigration and equal pay. Reviews are mixed as to how people have responded to the deep messaging- some praising companies for taking risks, while others want to leave any mention of politics on their Facebook feed.
What we really liked
Light hearted comedy. A dancing Mr. Clean, talking celebrity yearbook photos and a heroic Melissa McCarty were silly enough to give us a nice, clean laugh.
What we saw less of?
Weird, random ads of 2016. Our team unanimously agreed that not seeing Puppy Monkey Baby 2.0 was a good thing.
Our office picks:
John: 84 Lumber’s “The Journey”
Sarah: Michelin’s “I Need You”
Kaitlyn: Skittles’ “Romance”
John S: T-Mobile’s “#BagOfUnlimited” featuring Martha Stewart and Snoop Dog
Taylor: Buick’s “Not So Pee Wee Football” with Cam Newton and Miranda Kerr
