GREENVILLE, S.C. — High Spirits Hospitality is spending the next two weeks putting the finishing touches on its second annual Tacos n’ Tequila Fiesta in downtown Greenville.
The event, which is sponsored by Lunazul 100% Agave Tequila, will occur Sunday, March 25 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at The Old Cigar Warehouse, 912 S. Main Street, Greenville. The fiesta will feature local bartenders and chefs bringing their best tacos and cocktail ideas to downtown Greenville. Food and drink submissions will be put to the test by local judges in a competition in order to win the Golden Sombrero Award and $2,000 in cash prizes.
Attendees will enjoy games, a costume contest, live music and more in addition to the edible fare. A new feature this year is the Lunazul Tequila Experience, where guests can sample a flight of Lunazul Tequila and learn about the spirit.
Growing alongside the local food scene, this year’s fiesta touts almost double the attendance as last year. Participating restaurants include Willy Taco, Restaurant 17, Gastrolounge, Gringo’s Cantina, Ji-Roz, Nacho Taco Ltd., Papi’s Tacos, Sticky Fingers Ribhouse, Roost, Tilt Arcade Bar, Tin Lizzy’s Cantina and Taqueria, Up On The Roof, and Wild Ace Pizza and Pub.
“We had an amazing turnout for the first year, and it’s looking like this year will top that considerably,” said Tammy Johnson, High Spirits Events’ chief executive officer. “We are ecstatic to bring a fun annual event like this to the local food scene.”
