GREENVILLE, S.C. — Film buffs can buy Festival Passes for the third annual Countybank Reedy Reels Film Festival – and the first 50 to purchase can score a free T-shirt at the same time.
The Reedy Reels Film Festival is the Upstate’s largest annual celebration of film, said Mike Giordano, one of the festival’s board members. This year’s festival will be held Saturday, November 4 and Sunday, November 5 at the Peace Center’s Gunter Theatre.
Pass holders will be able to meet the artists behind this year’s slate of entries as well as sit in on lively and informative workshops focused on independent film production. Individual session tickets are not scheduled to go on sale until mid-October, after the lineup of films has been announced, so the best way to ensure a complete festival experience is to secure your passes early.
Festival Passes give users premier seating at all of this year’s film screenings as well as access to workshops. They go on sale beginning Friday, Sept. 15. In addition, the first 50 people to purchase Festival Passes also will receive free commemorative T-shirts.
There will be a limited number of the Festival Passes that offer attendees virtually unfettered access to the entire festival, Giordano said.
“Reedy Reels a celebration of the Upstate’s growing cinematic community, and offers viewers the chance to see locally made short and feature-length films that encompass a wide range of genres,” Giordano said.
The Reedy Reels Film Festival promotes the appreciation of the art of filmmaking while generating support for independent film-makers especially in the Upstate. The festival engages the community and creates exposure for local film-making while building inspiration and new opportunities for local artists.
Festival supporters for 2017 are Countybank, Michelin, Endeavor and the City of Greenville.
“We are very excited about this year’s festival,” Giordano said. “Getting one of the event passes is the best way to experience the entire festival.”
