GREENVILLE, S.C. – BANDWAGON, a sports technology and ticketing company that is changing the face of the college gameday experience, has raised $310,000 in their latest round of funding, allowing the company to expand operations into all Power Five conferences for the 2017 college football season.
The fundraising round was co-led by the Black Angel Tech Fund, based in Silicon Valley, and Blue Vista Ventures, based out of Atlanta. The round was closed after Harold Hughes, BANDWAGON founder and CEO, participated in the Google for Entrepreneurs Exchange Program in Durham, N.C.
“BANDWAGON is a true millennial company that is in tune with what the millennial market is seeking – a mobile-driven platform that harnesses data to build a customized experience,” said Greg Smith, president of Blue Vista Ventures. “Between the data-driven business model and the clear vision for expansion and opportunity, we see BANDWAGON as a company with potential for significant disruption in the online ticket marketplace.”
The most recent funds raised will allow BANDWAGON to increase the platform’s capacity for ticket sales in preparation for the 2017 college football season, as well as expand the level of customization available on the platform. BANDWAGON has recently signed an agreement with UTrip, an online personal travel planner, to incorporate their technology into the platform and allow users to build a curated weekend itinerary for away games and bowl games.
“We are committed to harnessing the power of data and giving that back to the fans by putting the gameday experience back in their hands,” said Hughes. “We’re thankful for the confidence of our investors and are looking forward to a productive 2017 as we bring BANDWAGON to more fans around the country.”
